Chapter holds first golf outing

Purdue fans, retailers, and trademark licensees joined forces on April 16 and 17 for a weekend of golf and football while raising funds for scholarships. Purdue's Office of Trademark Licensing teamed with the National Football Foundation's Joe Tiller Chapter of Northwest Indiana to host a golf scramble outing on the Purdue Ackerman Course on the afternoon of April 16. In all, 56 retailers, licensees, chapter members and some Boilermaker celebrities (including retired basketball coach Gene Keady and football All-American Bernie Flowers) participated, raising more than $4,000 for two scholarship funds.

Cost was $150 per player, covering lunch, dinner, golf cart, greens fees and a Saturday tailgate-lunch prior to Purdue's Spring Football Game in Ross-Ade Stadium. Attendees watched Head Coach Danny Hope's Boilermakers from the Shively Club in the Ross-Ade Pavilion.

Proceeds were split between the 12th Boiler Scholarship Fund in Purdue Athletics and the NFF Scholarship Fund.
