Golf outing raises nearly $6,000

Despite a few raindrops, the Ryan Kerrigan / 12th Boiler Golf Outing was a success.

With 60 golfers and lots of donated products and services, the 18-hole scramble netted nearly $6,000 in profits for the two scholarship funds. Two-thirds of the net profits will be donated to the John Purdue Club's 12th Boiler Fund, which endows a football scholarship. The other one-third goes to the NFF Scholarship Fund to help provide assistance for high school seniors throughout Northwest Indiana in the name of Ryan Kerrigan.

Besides Kerrigan, a few other Boilermaker alumni players were on hand including Leroy Keyes, Rosevelt Colvin, Calvin Williams and Dan Dierking, New head football coach Darrell Hazell, Miss Indiana MerrieBeth Cox and Purdue Pete also took part, but did not play.
